Victorious Victory Curls

OK, so I was clearly born in the era for which I was meant. Although I have always had a soft spot for anything and everything 40's-50's inspired (as I write I am listening to Sinatra), alas, if I were raising my family in the 50's I would have certainly overindulged on any mother's little helper I could get my hands on - ON. A. DAILY. BASIS. My hair-do quest for the Glitz and Glam 1940's/50's school auction was the "Victory Curl" up-do. You know, the super-fabo-waive-roll-curl thing on the top of your head. Sounds easy enough. Looked easy enough. Was NOT easy enough. Am embarrassed to admit (but will do so for your enjoyment) that this process took nearly 1.5 hours, there were stomping of feet in bathroom, heavy sighs from ever so patient husband, and last but most certainly NOT least arrived 45 minutes late to the event that inspired this craziness to begin with. Seriously, how did those women do it? I am in total and utter awe of them. I bow down. I'm hoping tomorrow is my lucky day and I will have CLEAN hair, perhaps clean socks, and if it's not too much to ask dinner actually AT the table.....not in the car on the way to hockey. VICTORIOUS!
